Your wedding guests make you feel so special on your big day, but how do they feel? Help your wedding guests feel special too.
It’s easy to get caught up in each other and trying to make sure everything goes smoothly. All it takes is a few simple touches to make every guest feel loved and welcome.
Whether you have a dozen guests or several hundred, you can make them all feel like an important part of your wedding. After all, they’re your friends and family and are already special to you.
1. Create Personal Cards
Nothing says you care more than creating a personal card for all your guests. It may take a little work and you might want to get your wedding party to help out. However, imagine instead of having just place card at their seat, you have a short note thanking them for coming. Mention something personal, like a favorite memory, to really personalize it.
You can also create a personal letter for everyone and include at the reception tables or in the program.
2. Add Their Favorite Songs
Creating a playlist is difficult. So, make your wedding guests feel special by letting them help. Depending on the number of guests, let them each pick one or two of their favorite songs. Include a RSVP date so they know they have to get the song(s) in by that time. When their song plays, announce the guest’s name. You can provide your DJ with a list. This works best with smaller wedding parties.
While it’s impossible to say hello to everyone personally with a large guest list, try to socialize as much as possible. Spending just a few minutes at each reception table and mingling on the dance floor makes a world of difference. You don’t have to do this as a couple either. If both partners make the rounds separately, you’ll have a better chance of talking with everyone and thanking them for coming.
Your guests feel special when you take that time to talk with them. The great part is most of your guests are grouped together talking anyway. This means you can talk to groups at a time versus individually.
4. Provide Fun Activities
Your guests might not want to just sit around all evening. Plus, you’re mixing two groups of people together, possibly for the first time. So, give them something to do. Provide fun activities to keep them entertained. This shows you care and also gives everyone a way to mix and mingle, even if they don’t like to dance.
Try to come up with activities your guests will enjoy. Also, consider the age range. You can have game areas or even have large interactive games, such as a scavenger hunt. Even the introverts at your wedding will find themselves having fun. If you’re having trouble thinking of activities, Brides.com has a list of both indoor and outdoor activities.
5. Give A Gift
You’ve likely prepared gifts for your wedding party. But, you can make your guests feel special by giving them a small gift too. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive or extravagant. Get your wedding party to help you customize your wedding favors as much as possible. Try to pick several options, such as cookies, plants or a DIY gift. Make sure you keep it budget-friendly and easy to put together.
As your guests leave, hand out their gifts. You can announce to your guests that you’ll be giving out gifts so no one misses out. Whatever you choose to give, your guests will feel special knowing you thought of them.
